Dr. James is Licensed in both California and Colorado. Serving clients via secured teletherapy for ultimate flexibility and safety during these stressful times.
The majority of my practice is what is referred to as “fee for service” meaning the client pays the therapist directly. Since I hold my doctorate, my clients are able to petition their insurance for reimbursement, referred to as “out of network benefits”. Below I outline the details of this process however I am always available to discuss your specific circumstances with you by phone.

Fees for Services
Individuals: please contact for fee schedule per 50-minute session
Couples & Families: starting at $240 per 80-minute session

Insurance + Out Of Network Benefits
You may qualify for Out of network benefits from your insurance provider.
I will provide every client with a detailed invoice called Superbill. A Superbill is a form created by insurance companies that allow clients to be reimbursed directly from the insurer.
A superbill is a detailed receipt of the services provided to you as the client. Here is an example:
Payment
Payment is due at the beginning of each session. For your convenience, I accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Apple Pay, and Android Pay. I accept cash in exact change. Flex cards or HSA cards are also accepted. I use therapy-designed software, SimplePractice, that also allows me to bill your card on file at the end of each session.*

Cancellation Policy
If you do not show up for your scheduled therapy appointment or have not notified me of your cancellation at least 24 hours in advance of your appointment, you will be required to pay the full cost of the missed session.
*Credit Card Authorization Policy: Each client is required to maintain a credit card or debit card on file. This policy maintains several benefits: It allows clients to access services over the phone in case of urgency and services that do not otherwise require face to face contact. This policy also increases commitment to therapy and minimizes paperwork. No shows and late cancel appointments are charged the full session fee.
